The Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy at Khon Kaen University is dedicated to the continuous improvement and elevation of educational quality. This is achieved through operations conducted under the education quality assurance framework based on the Education Criteria for Performance Excellence (EdPEx), a standard that promotes institutional excellence in teaching, management, and organizational development.
To ensure the highest quality education, the Faculty has continuously conducted assessments of educational quality at both the program and faculty levels, while also providing training in quality assurance for staff and faculty to foster understanding and awareness of the importance of educational quality development. In the fiscal year 2017, the Faculty applied to participate in the EdPEx 200, cohort 4 of the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC), and successfully passed the preliminary assessment.
Subsequently, in the fiscal year 2018, the Faculty was granted the opportunity to apply for participation in the EdPEx 200, cohort 5. On July 6, 2018, the Office of the Higher Education Commission conducted a site visit, interviewing the administration and staff of the Faculty to confirm the assessment results and provide feedback. Ultimately, the Faculty achieved a score of 200 points, marking a significant step in organizational development.
After achieving a score of 200 points, the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy undertook continuous organizational development over a period of four years, improving its management system and teaching processes to align with best practices, and thus was able to undergo evaluation according to the EdPEx 300 criteria on May 2, 2022. The Faculty presented detailed information regarding operational outcomes and quality development strategies to the assessment committee.
On July 8, 2022, the meeting of the Subcommittee on Educational Quality Development and Enhancement for Excellence approved that the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy at Khon Kaen University passed the evaluation at the 300 point level, representing an important milestone that reinforces the educational quality of the Faculty to a higher standard. It is the third Faculty at Khon Kaen University to receive accreditation at this level, following the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry, which had previously met the 300-point standard.
This achievement not only marks the accreditation of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy but also serves as a national pride, as the Faculty becomes the first among the humanities and social sciences faculties in the field of business administration in Thailand to pass the EdPEx 300 criteria. This is clear evidence of excellence in educational management and high-quality organizational administration.
The successful transition of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy at Khon Kaen University beyond the EdPEx 300 standard not only reflects a commitment to educational quality development but also affirms the Faculty’s potential in creating high-standard curricula, supporting valuable research, and developing graduates with competitive capabilities in the global labor market. The Faculty continues to pursue higher goals while advancing educational projects and innovations to create a stable and sustainable future.
