On September 5, 2025, students from the Innovation Management in Tourism program at the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, organized an academic seminar titled “Aesthetic Surgery Tourism: Opportunities and Challenges for the New Tourism Era.” The seminar was held in the Thipnapha Conference Room (1504) on the 5th floor of Building BS01. The event was honored by the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsutti Phuensane, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, who officiated the opening of the event. Dr.Jinnapas Dominic reported on the organization of the project. This seminar featured esteemed speakers from the aesthetic surgery industry, including Karawin Sirirojanapas,MD Chief Executive Officer of KRM Plastic Surgery Hospital, Mr. Sukulchai Tantrabanthit, Business Development and Marketing Director of Class Aesthetic Clinic, and Dr. Tantighorn Khotchachari, an independent scholar and expert in aesthetic surgery tourism.

Within this seminar, there were presentations on the topic “Opportunities for Khon Kaen Province to Become a Center for Aesthetic Surgery Tourism,” provided by a speaker from KRM Plastic Surgery Hospital, followed by a presentation titled “Challenges in Expanding Aesthetic Business and Business Models of New Entrepreneurs,” by a speaker from Class Aesthetic Clinic. Additionally, there was an academic panel discussion on “Opportunities and Challenges for Khon Kaen Province in Becoming a Center for Aesthetic Surgery Tourism.”

The organization of this project marks a significant platform for knowledge and experience exchange among the educational sector, business sector, and experts in the aesthetic surgery industry. It aims to inspire and enrich students’ understanding of the opportunities and challenges in the aesthetic surgery tourism market comprehensively, to propel business and health tourism industry development, build trust and confidence for service users, and elevate Khon Kaen to become a true Medical & Wellness Tourism Hub in the region.
