The Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University (KKBS), has officially received international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), recognizing it as one of the world’s leading business schools. This makes KKBS the first institution in Thailand’s Northeastern region and the ninth in the country to achieve this global standard. Less than 6% of business schools worldwide, across over 70 countries, hold AACSB accreditation, which signifies the highest globally recognized mark of educational quality.
The Faculty joined AACSB as a member in 2018 and has continuously pursued the accreditation process according to the established steps, culminating in the final Peer Review Visit from June 22–24, 2025. This achievement was initially driven by Associate Professor Dr. Pensri Jaroenwanit, the former Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, who currently serves as the Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovative Business. The initiative was then continued and brought to fruition by Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsutti Phuensane, the current Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy. This success marks a significant milestone for the Faculty in elevating its educational quality to international standards and represents a transition to a new educational management system that emphasizes learning outcomes, curriculum development aligned with global business needs, fostering collaborative networks with the business and industrial sectors, and developing students’ skills to navigate the rapidly changing business world.

Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsutti Phuensane, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, stated that receiving AACSB international accreditation is a significant step and a source of pride for the Faculty, reflecting its systematic educational management capabilities. AACSB is one of the highest globally recognized standards in business and accounting education, with a network of over 1,900 member institutions worldwide. The accreditation of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, therefore, validates its academic excellence as a world-leading educational institution and enhances the reputation and credibility of both the Faculty and the University. Furthermore, AACSB accreditation directly benefits students by providing enhanced opportunities to work with multinational corporations (MNCs), international organizations, and global accounting and financial institutions. It also instills greater confidence in the industrial sector and business partners that graduates from the Faculty possess the knowledge, skills, and international standards required for their professions.

Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsutti Phuensane further emphasized that this achievement is attributable to the dedicated support and sacrifice of the faculty members, staff, students, alumni, and all collaborative networks. He particularly acknowledged the faculty’s commitment to developing teaching and learning consistent with international standards, the staff’s professional operations, the students who embody the potential and readiness of graduates in the modern world, the alumni who have applied their knowledge to achieve career success, and the collaborative networks that have consistently provided support. The collective effort from all sectors has been the crucial force propelling the Faculty gracefully toward international standards.
Regarding the Faculty’s future direction, Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsutti Phuensane concluded that the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, will continue its commitment to elevate education, research, and innovation to produce high-quality graduates with professional potential and social responsibility. These graduates will be vital forces in driving Thailand’s economy and society towards stable and sustainable international growth, guided by the vision: “KKBS is a Premier Business School Focused on Industrial Integration for Sustainable Economic Development.”
